About the Company

We are an established trailer manufacturing company based in Brandon/ Glenboro, Manitoba, serving customers across the region with quality custom and production trailers.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our operations and drive the next phase of growth. This role requires a hands-on leader who can stabilize and optimize our production operations, increase manufacturing capacity, and take full ownership of business performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Leadership

Stabilize and standardize production processes to ensure consistent quality and delivery timelines
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in current manufacturing workflows
Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Develop capacity expansion plans, including equipment, facility, and workforce requirements
Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a culture of workplace safety

Business & P&L Management

Full accountability for company financial performance, including revenue growth and profitability targets
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic business plans
Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (production output, labor costs, material costs, margins)
Identify new revenue opportunities and market expansion possibilities
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate supplier contracts

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the production team and administrative staff
Recruit, train, and retain skilled workers in a competitive labor market
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus
Implement performance management systems and employee development programs

Quality & Customer Satisfaction

Maintain high standards of product quality and craftsmanship
Oversee customer service and ensure timely resolution of issues
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Manage custom orders and ensure specifications are met

Required Qualifications

5+ years of general management experience in manufacturing, preferably in metal fabrication, agricultural equipment, or trailer/transportation equipment
Proven track record of improving production efficiency and scaling operations
Strong financial acumen with P&L ownership experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a manufacturing environment
Experience with lean manufacturing, process improvement, or similar methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering or business degree
Experience in custom/job shop manufacturing environments
Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and trailer manufacturing processes
Familiarity with Manitoba's manufacturing landscape and labor market
Experience managing businesses in rural or small-town settings
