Responsibilities

Work under limited supervision and performs tasks according to written instructions and established procedures.
Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Perform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts.
Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / Worksafe Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of relevant work experience, certified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic is an asset.
Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
Knowledge/ experience using RTA an asset
Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record, Class 3 Driver's Licence or higher is an asset.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Able to successfully pass a background check consisting of an MTO medical/drug test, criminal history search, license verification and employment confirmation.
