We are currently hiring for the position of an Electrical Equipment Dismantler at our Maple Ridge, BC location. This is a full-time, permanent role with a comprehensive compensation package that includes:

Duties and Responsibilities
- Dismantling electrical equipment using hand tools and power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
- Draining dielectric oil from transformers and other oil-filled equipment in accordance with procedures.
- Weighing incoming and processed materials to ensure accurate inventory and tracking.
- Segregating and sorting materials, including ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and residual waste streams.
- Separating metals from porous materials to ensure proper recycling and disposal.
- Cleaning recovered metals to remove oil, debris, and contaminants prior to shipment or recycling.
- Operating and maintaining metal cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Collecting samples of oil and/or metals as required for regulatory testing and documentation.
- Completing daily production logs and maintaining accurate material tracking records.
- Operating forklifts and overhead cranes to safely move equipment and processed materials within the facility.
- Ensuring compliance with all environmental, safety, and operational procedures.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated work areas.
- General housekeeping of workspace.
- Participate in all necessary training to carry out your duties effectively and properly.
- Comply with health safety and environmental legal and other requirements.
- Adhere to internal company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and other employees.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience with transformers considered an asset
- Experience using power and hand tools
- Knowledge of electrical equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, pumps and vacuum systems considered an asset
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to do some local travel and work longer hours when needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and capable of doing physical work
