About Us
T-Brothers Food & Trading Ltd. is an established importer and distributor of Korean and Asian food products, serving customers across the Canadian food market.
We are looking for a motivated Key Account Manager / Business Development Manager to help grow our business with Canadian mainstream retail customers, including major national grocery retailers and other key accounts.
Role Overview
This is a customer-facing sales and account management role focused on growing Korean and Asian food products in the Canadian mainstream retail market.
The successful candidate will manage assigned mainstream retail accounts, build strong customer relationships, follow up on product opportunities, support new listings and promotions, and identify ways to grow sales through assortment, presentation, promotion, and execution.
This is not only an account maintenance role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of accounts, develop new opportunities, and help build momentum in one of the company’s highest-potential growth areas.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal support staff for pricing sheets, item setup, samples, customer forms, presentation materials, and other executional tasks. This role will be responsible for providing the sales direction, customer context, and account strategy needed to move opportunities forward.
For the right candidate, this role may grow into broader sales leadership responsibilities as the mainstream retail business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow assigned Canadian mainstream retail accounts through new listings, expanding distribution of existing listings, and promotions
- Build strong relationships with buyers, store managers, and key customer contacts
- Follow up on product offers, pricing submissions, promotions, and new listing opportunities
- Identify Korean and Asian food products with strong mainstream retail potential and recommend suitable items for sourcing, listing, and customer presentation
- Visit customer locations and stores within Metro Vancouver to review execution, assortment, pricing, and growth opportunities
- Work with internal support staff to coordinate pricing, samples, item setup, customer forms, and customer requests
- Monitor sales performance, order patterns, product movement, and promotional results
Travel Expectations
This role requires regular customer and store visits within Metro Vancouver, with occasional travel within Canada as needed.
A company vehicle will be provided for business travel within Metro Vancouver.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or a related role
- Experience managing relationships with buyers in mainstream food, grocery, retail, or CPG channels preferred
- Strong communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage accounts, follow up on opportunities, and move projects forward independently
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to identify sales growth opportunities
- Ability to provide clear direction to internal support staff and coordinate cross-functional follow-up
- Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Assets
- Existing relationships within Canadian grocery, retail, CPG, or food distribution channels considered a strong asset
- Experience managing or developing key accounts in food, grocery, retail, CPG, or distribution
- Knowledge of Korean, Asian, or international food products
- Experience with retail promotions, new product launches, or account growth planning
- Korean language proficiency is an asset, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $70,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience
- Performance-based compensation or commission may be considered for qualified candidates, with total compensation potential up to $90,000
