Full job description

Company Overview:

Green Theory designs and manufactures site furnishings and planters for every landscape. Fully in-house manufacturing ensuring precision, durability, and full control over every detail.

The Opportunity:

Join a small, hands-on in-house design team, working closely with the product manager (industrial design background), as well as engineering, marketing, and production, to take products from ideation through to real-world manufacture.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have formal Industrial Design experience (preferably university level), with 3+ years in industry, however candidates with a strong portfolio, practical mindset, and collaborative attitude are key.

The role suits someone who is creative, adaptable, and proactive, as projects and tasks may evolve toward production.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop new and existing products, focusing on form and function, materials and processes, and assembly/installation

Create sketches (hand or digital), 3D CAD models and drawings for manufacture/assembly (SolidWorks), product renders/visuals, and prototypes

Present ideas/concepts when necessary

Contribute to larger team goals, deadlines, projects, and presentations

Collaborate with a range of departments to ensure that products are launched on-brand, on-time

Essential:

Formal relevant education in Industrial Design (University Degree preferred)

Considerable experience with SolidWorks 3D modelling and drawings, Adobe Suite, MS Suite

Creative problem-solving ability

Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines

Highly Desirable:

Previous experience with sheet metal and CNC design and manufacture

Previous experience designing site furnishings

Experience rendering (Keyshot preferred)

In-depth knowledge of a range of materials as well as manufacturing processes and techniques

Ability to generate creative ideas and refine them for real-world manufacture
