Company Introduction
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 37 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 14 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the R&M Manager, the Technician is responsible to perform preventative or corrective maintenance to a wide variety of facilities and equipment.

You Will

Perform routine and complex preventive maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment, building, systems, utilities, facility components etc.
Perform general maintenance work including rough and finish carpentry, painting and interior finishes repair and replacement, door and window repairs, hardware installation and repair, installing sealants and caulking, minor roofing repairs, light fixture lamp replacements, metal fabrications, hanging pictures, adjusting and repairing furniture, and installing and repairing cabinets.
Perform more in depth and complex maintenance work including equipment installation, flooring repair and refinishing.
Install, operate and maintain all building equipment and components that support the facility including: HVAC systems, building control systems, purified water, cooling towers, chillers, steam boilers, emergency generators, clean steam, RO water, compressed air and lab gas distribution systems.
Trouble shoot problems in the event of mechanical failure of equipment and recommend necessary parts for effective repair.
Perform periodic building equipment inspections following a checklist format and according a schedule to proactively identify maintenance and repair needs prior to building occupants.
Work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required to resolve problems and make recommendations.
Work effectively with contractors and assist Project Management Teams.
Develop or assist in the development of any documents required to support the Maintenance function.
Perform any other duties or projects as assigned by superior(s)

You Should Have / Be

Possess relevant and valid licenses (Electrical, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Gas) which comply to statutory safety standards will be an asset
Possess 2-3 years’ experience in delivering R&M of fast-paced retail environment, supermarket preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
Must possess strong technical skills and have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, cabinet coolers, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, etc.
Ability to treat people with respect using good inter-personal and communication skills
Ability to lift more than 40lbs and able to perform duties in various environments
Ability to operate tools and equipments using proper techniques and postures that complies to work safety requirements
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Good command of English (knowledge of Chinese – Cantonese / Mandarin will be an asset)

Shift

Shift work is required (may have to work on Saturdays and Sundays)
