What we are looking for:

The Unit Secretary is a valuable member of the Plastics Clinic and Minor Surgery Clinic team as well as the Fracture Clinic Team and has a significant impact on the efficient and effective operation of the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for receptionist duties which include: greeting and registering patients, entering x-ray orders, answering phone calls, returning voice messages and scheduling clinic appointments. You will provide support in the Plastics Clinic and Minor Surgery Clinic, as well as the Fracture Clinic as needed.

What you bring to the role:

Surgical outpatient clinic or outpatient Ambulatory experience required
Medical Administration Certificate or equivalent
Medical Terminology required
2 – 5 years relevant experience within the past five years
Registration and patient booking experience required
Previous experience in a fast paced environment required
A strong customer service focus is required
Computer/typing skills are essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization, prioritizing, and problem solving
Experience with Meditech and Community Wide Scheduling is an asset
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Work Schedule:

The successful candidate must be available Monday-Friday for 8 hour shifts

07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

07:30 AM - 03:30 PM

07:00 AM - 12:00 PM

08:00 AM - 01:00 PM

09:00 AM - 05:00 PM

Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.
