Phlebotomist (Part-Time, Temporary)
Nickles Pharmacy is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team on a part-time basis. We are a small, independent, family-owned pharmacy located in Marmora, ON. We are seeking a dependable, professional, and patient-focused individual who is committed to providing high-quality care and ensuring a positive experience for every patient.
Current Opening:
Phlebotomist (Part-Time) : 1–2 Days per Week
We are looking for a qualified phlebotomist to provide blood collection services within our established clinic. The clinic is fully set up and operational, allowing you to focus on patient care and specimen collection.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures safely and efficiently
- Accurately identify patients and verify laboratory requisitions
- Prepare patients for blood collection and answer questions in a professional and reassuring manner
- Label, handle, and process specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment
- Coordinate specimen storage and courier pickups as required
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff
- Monitor inventory levels of phlebotomy and clinic supplies
Skills & Qualifications
- Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician training preferred
- Previous phlebotomy experience required
- Strong venipuncture skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and patient-service skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfortable using computer systems for documentation and record-keeping
- CPR/First Aid certification is an asset
