Full job description

Sous la direction du chef exécutif, le sous-chef est le gestionnaire des services de production alimentaire dont la fonction est d’aider et soutenir le chef exécutif à planifier, organiser, diriger et contrôler les activités de la cuisine et de la salle à manger du restaurant afin d’assurer l’efficacité du service et la qualité des repas servis à la clientèle. Le sous-chef devra seconder ou se substituer au chef exécutif dans l’exécution de diverses tâches tel qu’énumérées ci-bas.

RÔLE ET RESONSABILITÉS

Assurer un leadership visible et un encadrement continu du personnel de la cuisine ;
Maintenir et assurer que les standards alimentaires établis soit respecter étroitement ;
Respecter les réglementations en matière d’hygiène et de salubrité;
Communiquer dans un langage clair, professionnel et courtois avec l’équipe et les clients ;
Développer et maintenir des relations de travail positives avec les autres ; supporter son équipe afin d’atteindre des objectifs communs ;
Suivre toutes les politiques et procédures de l'entreprise ;
Maintenir la confidentialité des informations privées et confidentielles lié à son travail ;
Protéger les actifs de l’entreprise ;
Signaler les accidents, les blessures et les conditions de travail dangereuses au directeur en devoir ;
Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe au besoin.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formation professionnelle ou collégiale en hôtellerie, en tourisme ou dans un domaine connexe;
Expérience en cuisine à titre de sous-chef depuis au moins un (1) an;
Certificat en hygiène et salubrité MAPAQ.

Excellentes compétences en gestion du temps, en organisation et en administration ;
Maintenir un haut niveau de professionnalisme en tout temps ;
Posséder un sens de l’organisation et le souci du détail ;
Posséder d'excellentes qualités interpersonnelles et une forte habileté au service à la clientèle ;
Capacité de motiver et démonter un leadership positif ;
Capable de prendre des décisions et de résoudre des problèmes par soi-même ;
Flexibilité concernant les horaires : les fins de semaine, les matins, les soirées et les jours fériés ;
Communiquer efficacement à l’écrit et verbalement, en anglais et en français

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for food production whose main function is to assist and support the Executive Chef in planning, organizing, directing and controlling kitchen and dining room activities in the restaurant in order to ensure the efficiency of the service and the quality of the meals served to our guests. The sous-chef will have to assist or replace the executive chef in the execution of various tasks as listed below.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide visible leadership and ongoing coaching to kitchen staff;
Maintain and ensure that established food standards are strictly adhered to;
Comply with hygiene and sanitation regulations;
Communicate in clear, professional and courteous language with the team and clients;
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support his team in order to achieve common objectives;
Follow all company policies and procedures;
Maintain the confidentiality of private and confidential information related to his work;
Protect company assets;
Report accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions to the manager on duty;
Perform any other related task as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Vocational or college training in hospitality, tourism or a related field;
Kitchen experience as a sous-chef for at least one (1) year;
Certificate in hygiene and sanitation MAPAQ.

Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times;
Have a sense of organization and attention to detail;
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills;
Ability to motivate and demonstrate positive leadership;
Able to make decisions and solve problems on their own;
Flexibility regarding schedules: weekends, mornings, evenings and holidays;
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, in English and French
