Full job description

Goodfellow is seeking a procurement specialist who will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, analyzing reports to determine what orders to place, ensuring that orders are tracked with suppliers, and optimizing procurement parameters to maintain an adequate service level and healthy inventory turnover.

With 12 Canadian distribution centers, as well as one in the United States and one in the United Kingdom, Goodfellow is one of Canada’s leading distributors of building materials.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Floor Purchasing Manager, the Procurement Specialist ensures that flooring inventory levels are sufficient for the entire company.
Enter orders into the Epicor procurement system;
Track sold and unsold products; here I would say track slow moving stock and backorders
Track and verify orders;
Participate in the integration of new product lines;
Plan and place product orders based on needs and check inventory levels daily;
Maintain relationships with suppliers, keep procurement-related data up to date, and perform necessary follow-ups;
Conduct inter-warehouse restocking;
Notify internal customers of supplier delivery delays;
Design, update, and produce relevant periodic operational reports and metrics;
Propose, improve, and implement procurement strategies to reduce shortages;
Develop healthy and productive relationships with internal and external partners;
Ability to analyze forecast/historical sales
And all other related tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Possess strong mathematical reasoning and a well-developed analytical mind;
Excellent command of the French language, both spoken and written, as well as English
Ability to make decisions quickly;
Strong analytical and synthesis skills
Ability to provide excellent internal customer service
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; especially Excel

Principales responsabilités

Sous la responsabilité du gestionnaire des achats de revêtements de plancher, le spécialiste des achats veille à ce que les niveaux de stock de revêtements de plancher soient suffisants pour l’ensemble de l’entreprise.
Saisir les commandes dans le système d’approvisionnement Epicor;
Assurer le suivi des produits vendus et invendus; ici, je dirais : assurer le suivi des stocks à rotation lente et des commandes en attente;
Assurer le suivi et la vérification des commandes;
Participer à l’intégration de nouvelles gammes de produits;
Planifier et passer les commandes de produits en fonction des besoins et vérifier quotidiennement les niveaux de stock;
Entretenir les relations avec les fournisseurs, tenir à jour les données relatives à l’approvisionnement et effectuer les suivis nécessaires;
Effectuer le réapprovisionnement entre entrepôts;
Informer les clients internes des retards de livraison des fournisseurs;
Concevoir, mettre à jour et produire des rapports opérationnels périodiques et des indicateurs pertinents;
Proposer, améliorer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies d’approvisionnement visant à réduire les pénuries;
Développer des relations saines et productives avec les partenaires internes et externes;
Capacité à analyser les prévisions et l’historique des ventes;
Et toutes les autres tâches connexes.

Compétences et qualifications requises

Posséder un solide raisonnement mathématique et un esprit analytique bien développé;
Excellente maîtrise du français, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit, ainsi que de l’anglais
Capacité à prendre des décisions rapidement;
Solides compétences en analyse et en synthèse
Capacité à offrir un excellent service à la clientèle interne
Sens exceptionnel de l’organisation

Maîtrise de Microsoft Office, en particulier d’Excel
