Medical Office Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support within a busy medical office, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and supporting clinical staff. Candidates with prior experience in medical or dental office settings, especially those familiar with AVA electronic health records systems, will excel in this position. The Medical Office Assistant plays a vital role in delivering excellent patient care through efficient front desk management and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

Overlook daily schedules and workflow for each physician
Prepare exam rooms for patient visits and operate medical equipment for necessary procedures
Preform ECG as per physician request
Assisting/chaperoning duties with physicians as required
Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately
Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for clinical staff
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing correspondence
Order medical and office supplies as necessary (Lab Supplies)
Inform Clinic Manager in advance of disposables to order
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to ensure efficient workflow
Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and office policiesRequirements
Proven experience as Medical Office Assistant preferred;
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Prior office experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially
Experience with office equipment and administrative software applications
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
