Job Summary:
The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Appliance Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of commercial kitchen and food production equipment in a highly regulated environment.
Reporting to the Facilities/Maintenance Manager, this role is based in Milton, Ontario and plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency while maintaining strict compliance with food safety and regulatory standards such as CFIA, HACCP, and OHSA. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with facilities and production teams to minimize downtime and maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, align, and commission commercial kitchen equipment and related systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on kitchen and facility equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and adjustments to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Repair or replace defective components to restore functionality
- Partner with facilities and production teams to resolve issues and reduce downtime
- Maintain compliance with OHSA, food safety standards, and internal policies
- Follow safe work practices, including lockout/tagout and hazard identification
- Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Utilize CMMS systems for maintenance tracking and reporting
- Perform basic fabrication, including welding and minor machining as required
- Support additional maintenance-related tasks as assigned
