Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Math Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Math Teaching Assistant, you will work with the Middle and High School level students to teach Math following Kumon method and assist in creating an engaging learning environment for students. This is a paid position that offers valuable experience in the field of education. You will play a key role in helping students develop their self-confidence.
Position Requirements:
Candidate's availability required after school hours on weekdays and Saturday mornings
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Strong commitment and reliability are must-have.
Responsibilities :
You will work directly with students as a Teaching Assistant with the following responsibilities:
Assisting up to 5 - 6 students at a time at different levels
Following the Kumon Learning methodologies and philosophies
Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
Some administrative duties to fill as required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree ( preferred in Science or Math Major) is required
Excellent knowledge of Middle and High school level Math
Fourth-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification (B.Ed.) or OCT completed or enrolled is an asset
Retired Math teacher or teacher assistant is preferred
Experience (Must Haves):
Experience in teaching Math from Grade 6 to Grade 12 level
Strong ability to explain any Kumon Math problem following the Kumon method
Excellent problem-solving skill
Some experience working with kids having Learning challenges will be considered as an asset

Salary: $18.50-19.50/ hour
