Elementary School Teacher (Grades JK – 6)

Position: Elementary School Teacher (Grades JK – 6)
Location: Orchard Elementary STEAM School, Milton, Canada
Type: Full-time or Part Time

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire young minds, foster a love of learning, and help students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and school standards.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional and educational needs of all students.
Teach, assess and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic growth.
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administration.
Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and attendance.
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support school initiatives and enhance the overall educational experience.
Address and support individual student needs through differentiated instruction and personalized learning plans.

Requirements

Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Proficient in using educational technology and resources.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (STEM background preferred)
Valid teaching certification for the province of Ontario is preferred.
Previous experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred.
A clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening.
