Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday, must be available within the hours of 7am – 6pm; rotating
THE ORGANIZATION
The Country Heritage Park, Centres for Early Learning is located in Milton, Halton Region, Ontario, Canada, and is a fully-licensed childcare centre, which provides programs for children ages 3 years to 9 years of age. Children receive care designed to help them develop their academic, emotional and social skills, and grow the foundations they will need to succeed in life.
THE ROLE
The ECA is responsible for educating, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children. Their principle responsibilities include: maintaining a high quality environment, assessing, observing and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members and always exemplifying professionalism.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
- Up-to-date Immunization and 2-tiered TB test
- Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Infants to School Age).
- Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents.
- Excellent teamwork skills
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The primary responsibility of the Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) is to support the RECE in planning and implementing a program and daily activities
- Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
- Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
- Supports the direction and participate with children in all planned activities.
- Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom
