Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Butcher. This role involves working in a dynamic food industry environment, focusing on food preparation, meat cutting, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality food handling and contributing to the delivery of exceptional products and experiences.

Responsibilities

Cut, debone, and trim beef, pork, turkey, and chicken following internal specifications and quality standards.
Uses various butcher tools and equipment to process meat, estimates product requirements, and orders supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Shape, tie, and secure roasts and other meat, or poultry products, and wrap or package fresh, frozen, or prepared items as required.
Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and freshness requirements.
Strictly adhere to Freshouse Foods company policies and procedures, including compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations, and all applicable food safety and sanitation standards.
Inspects meat and other related products to ensure quality, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards.
Ensures proper stock rotation and storage practices, maintains high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in the butcher area.
May also perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills

Proven experience or familiarity with the food industry, particularly in butchering pork and beef sections of meat.
Knowledge of butcher techniques and meat cutting processes.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
Ability to operate butcher equipment safely and efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail for quality control and packaging accuracy.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
