Job Summary

The Purchasing Assistant supports the Maintenance Department by assisting in the management, organization, and tracking of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials, spare parts, and supplies. This role ensures that critical maintenance items are properly stocked, recorded, and readily available to support production operations.

This position is ideal for recent graduates who want to build a career in maintenance operations, inventory control, and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities

1. MRO Inventory Management

Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate replenishment.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming MRO supplies and spare parts.

2. Purchasing & Vendor Coordination

Prepare purchase requisitions for maintenance materials and consumables.
Maintain updated supplier records and pricing lists.

3. Maintenance Support

Record parts usage in maintenance logs or ERP system.
Assist in tracking preventive maintenance (PM) material requirements.
Help maintain documentation for equipment manuals and spare parts lists.

4. Warehouse & 5S Compliance

Ensure proper storage of lubricants, electrical components, mechanical parts, and safety supplies.
Follow safety policies for handling chemicals, oils, and equipment.
Support plant-wide 5S and safety initiatives.

5. Documentation & ERP Support

Update inventory transactions in ERP system (e.g., Epicor, SAP, etc.).
Maintain records of material consumption and reorder history.
Generate simple inventory and usage reports as required.
Knowledge in Data analysis
Setting up appointments

Qualifications

Education

Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
High School Diploma with relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

Open for newly graduates.
Experience in warehouse, MRO, or maintenance support in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
Experience in plastic, polymer, extrusion, or recycling manufacturing is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical spare parts.
Familiarity with industrial equipment components (motors, bearings, sensors, belts, heaters, etc.).
ERP system experience will be an advantage.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Must be good in Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize urgent requests.
Good communication skills.
