HR and Administration Specialist (Entry Level)

Job Summary

YASO Basketball Inc. is a growing basketball club dedicated to helping young athletes develop both on and off the court. We believe in teaching basketball while also building important life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, respect, leadership and confidence. We are looking for a motivated and organized individual to join our team as an HR & Administration Specialist.

This is an entry-level position and is a great opportunity for someone looking to begin or grow their career in Human Resources and Administration. As our organization continues to grow, there will be opportunities for increased responsibility, professional development and career advancement.

Job Responsibilities

Human Resources

· Coordinate onboarding for new staff and coaches

· Support employee orientation and training processes

· Assist with coach and athlete recruitment, including reviewing applications, screening candidates, scheduling interviews and coordinating background checks

· Help develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures

· Coordinate payroll administration and maintain accurate payroll records

· Promote workplace health, safety and employee well-bring initiatives

· Ensure HR documentation remains organized, confidential and up to date

Administration

· Develop and coordinate staff, league, tournament and gym schedules

· Prepare and present athlete registration and offer packages

· Manage athlete recruitment, onboarding and registration processes

· Respond professionally to inquiries from athletes, parents, coaches and staff

· Assist with bookkeeping and administrative record keeping

· Provide general administrative support to ensure the organization operates efficiently

Qualifications

· College diploma or university degree required

· Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field

· Previous HR or administrative experience is an asset but not required

· Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)

· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

· Experience playing or coaching basketball at the high school, college or university level is an asset

· Experience in other organized sports or youth programming is also beneficial
