Safa & Marwa is a private not-for-profit Islamic school in its 29th year of operation, located in central Mississauga. Safa & Marwa School is registered by the Ontario Ministry of Education and offers a fully accredited program from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.

We are currently seeking a qualified French Teacher.

At Safa & Marwa, we are motivated to inspire Islamic values in our students and emphasize academic excellence while empowering them, through character development, to contribute positively to the Canadian and global community. Our teachers are qualified, dedicated, and hardworking. We are currently looking for a passionate educator to join our team and help students succeed. Requirements:

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to confidently multi-task and translate school goals and teaching strategies into effective daily practice.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating approachability and professionalism when engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, growing school environment, showing flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, including current pedagogical practices and assessment strategies relevant to Core French and/or French instruction.
Strong proficiency in spoken and written French.
Commitment to ongoing professional learning and the use of engaging, student-centered teaching strategies.
Strong classroom management skills, including the ability to maintain a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
Ability to integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction and support student learning through innovative teaching methods.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in French, Education, Languages, or a related field, plus a Bachelor of Education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Understanding of Islamic values, practices, and school culture, with the ability to support and respect the school’s mission and ethos.
Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is an asset, particularly with French qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Teach French courses in accordance with the Ontario Curriculum.
Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that support student achievement and language development.
Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages confidence in speaking, reading, and writing French.
Monitor and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, report cards, and parent-teacher interviews.
Contribute to curriculum planning, pedagogical discussions, and student success initiatives as part of the faculty team.
Perform a designated number of supervisory and administrative duties in addition to teaching responsibilities.
Attend all faculty meetings and assist with open houses, school events, and extracurricular activities wherever possible.
Support students academically, socially, and spiritually in alignment with the school’s values and mission.
