Job Description
MN Contracting is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Estimator / Tender Coordinator to join
our team on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate should have experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, tender documents,
and preparing estimates for commercial, institutional, and residential construction projects. This role requires
someone who is organized, accurate, and able to manage tender closing deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documents.
- Prepare quantity take-offs for construction scopes such as drywall, framing, ACT ceilings, painting, flooring,
concrete, renovations, and general construction work.
- Assist with pricing labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
- Prepare and submit tender packages before closing deadlines.
- Contact suppliers and subcontractors for pricing.
- Track tender opportunities, bid deadlines, addenda, and project requirements.
- Prepare estimate summaries, scope sheets, exclusions, clarifications, and proposal documents.
- Follow up with general contractors, project managers, and clients regarding submitted estimates.
- Maintain organized project folders, drawings, pricing, and tender documents.
- Support the company with general office and estimating-related duties as required.
Requirements
- Local experience in construction estimating or tender coordination.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of tender closing procedures and bid submission requirements.
- Experience preparing take-offs and estimates.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PDF software, and email.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict tender deadlines.
- Must have a valid G driver's licence.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Bachelor's Degree / Post-Secondary education at an accredited Canadian Institution preffered.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Construction knowledge in commercial, institutional, or residential projects is preferred.
- Must be reliable, professional, and detail-oriented.
