Full job description

Marino’s Auto Group is seeking a diligent and dedicated Junior Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting team.

Who We Need:
We are looking for a diligent and dedicated Junior Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk should be eager to take initiative in a small but busy team. As our Accounting Clerk, not only do you take pride in meticulous work, you are willing to go the extra mile to help your team.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the accounts payable and receivable duties in conjunction with the Senior Staff Accountant, including day to day entries to PBS.
Manage the weekly payment cycle
Daily data entry of financial transactions in database (i.e payables, or deposits)
Reconciling and recording credit card expenses, tickets, and 407 charges
Reconcile select accounts and schedules monthly, prior to month end
Maintain filing system for accounting documents
Complete ad-hoc requests and reconciliations to meet Management reporting requirements
Reconcile various accounts in a timely manner
Support with other administrative tasks for the Accounting department including end-of-month accounting report

What We're Looking For:
Post-secondary education, specializing in Accounting or Finance
Relative experience in professional services (an asset but not required)
Strong proficiency in MS Excel

Your Characteristics:
Solid understanding of accounting principles and a high affinity for numbers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic, with a self-starter and can-do attitude
A detail-oriented problem solver
Work well with minimal supervision and with the appropriate sense of urgency
