We are searching for a Wellness Assistant (Recreation) to join our Faubourg Du Mascaret team based in Moncton, New Brunswick.

About the Opportunity

Assisting with planning, implementing and evaluating internal and external recreation programs focusing on emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual needs of the clients;
Conducting recreation programs in a variety of settings, such as large groups, small groups and one-to-one;
Preparing rooms, materials and equipment for recreation programs;
Motivating and facilitating client participation in recreation programs and involvement with the community;
Documenting client progress evaluations, admission assessments and other reports as required;
Maintaining accurate client participation records; analyzes data to assist in the development of appropriate programs;
Assisting in the training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers and student placements.

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

A high-school diploma or equivalent education;
A post-secondary education in a relative field considered a strong asset and is preferred;
Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
You are an energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and has experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment;
Current First Aid & CPR certificate considered an asset;
Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire;
Class 4 Driver’s License considered an asset;
A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
