OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Operations Consultant for a contract opportunity to support, optimize, and oversee complex network infrastructure. Operating primarily in a network operations and support capacity, the ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, leading day-to-day networking activities, troubleshooting advanced technical issues, and ensuring alignment with rigorous enterprise standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to core enterprise infrastructure.
- Act as an escalation point and coordinate with vendors and external technical resources to effectively troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.
- Serve as the networking subject matter expert on a wide range of internal and customer-facing technology projects, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Lead and oversee day-to-day networking activities and contribute to long-term operational planning.
- Optimize existing systems for performance and capacity, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Research, understand, and implement robust networking security protocols.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all networking solutions.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience leading large-scale network operations and infrastructure initiatives within complex enterprise environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with networking tools and platforms, including Cisco ACI, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst, Junos Space, OpManager, CheckPoint, and A10/Netscaler load balancing platforms.
- Strong background in cloud networking environments, particularly Azure Networking (highly preferred).
- Solid understanding of network security protocols and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to coordinate with external vendors and technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage high-pressure troubleshooting scenarios.
- Note: Controlled Goods Clearance is preferred.
