Position: Kitchen Support Worker

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Assist in Batch cooking three meals per day for approximately 150 people per meal with assistance from staff and volunteers.
Ensure that the kitchen laundry is done on a regular basis
Assist in organizing food storage room and keep all storage areas clean and orderly.
Follow the schedule as set by the manager ensuring that you notify the manager a minimum of 12 hours in advance in the case of sick leave and two weeks in advance for all other absences
Ensure kitchen cleaning is completed and all areas are sanitized following the province sanitary standards
Keep records of Meals Served
Assist in ensuring that supplies are available for preparing meals. Monitor the quantities being served
Assist in all other tasks assigned by Manager

Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an asset
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Safe Food Handling certificate is preferred
Criminal Record Check (CRC) and First Aid Certificate are mandatory
Able to commute to 182 High Street - work location
