Île Flottante est un restaurant à menu dégustation saisonnier situé au cœur du Mile End à Montréal. Notre approche repose sur une cuisine raffinée axée sur le produit, des accords mets-vins réfléchis et une expérience client soigneusement orchestrée. Nous croyons que l'excellence en hospitalité naît d'une attention constante aux détails, d'un accueil sincère et d'une étroite collaboration entre la salle et la cuisine.

Responsabilités

Offrir un service attentif, chaleureux et irréprochable dans un format menu dégustation
Présenter et exécuter les accords mets-vins avec assurance, précision et enthousiasme
Guider les clients à travers le menu, les ingrédients, les techniques culinaires et l'expérience globale
Maintenir une connaissance approfondie de la carte des vins, de la cave et des producteurs représentés
Jouer un rôle clé dans le développement du programme de vins du restaurant, notamment par la création et l'évolution d'une carte des vins dynamique et en constante rotation ainsi que des accords saisonniers
Collaborer étroitement avec le chef exécutif afin de développer, affiner et faire évoluer les accords mets-vins en harmonie avec la cuisine et la vision du restaurant
Participer aux dégustations régulières et à la sélection des vins pour les menus saisonniers
Effectuer une veille active sur les nouveaux producteurs, les régions viticoles et les portefeuilles d'importation afin d'enrichir continuellement l'offre de boissons
Collaborer avec les agences, importateurs et fournisseurs pour sélectionner des vins alignés avec la philosophie du restaurant
Participer aux achats, à la gestion des inventaires, à l'organisation de la cave et au suivi des coûts
Contribuer à la formation de l'équipe sur les vins, les accords mets-vins et les standards de service
Travailler en étroite collaboration avec la cuisine et l'équipe de salle afin d'assurer une expérience client fluide et cohérente

Exigences

Minimum de 3 ans d'expérience en restauration gastronomique
Excellente connaissance du vin, du service du vin et des principes d'accords mets-vins
Expérience en service de menu dégustation considérée comme un atout important
Passion démontrée pour le vin et désir constant d'approfondir ses connaissances
Excellentes aptitudes en communication et capacité à transmettre une histoire autour des vins et des producteurs
Présentation soignée, professionnalisme et approche centrée sur l'expérience client
Excellentes capacités d'organisation et grande attention aux détails
Capacité à évoluer dans un environnement exigeant, rapide et axé sur l'excellence
Bilinguisme français et anglais obligatoire
Certification en sommellerie considérée comme un atout

About Us

Île Flottante is a seasonal tasting menu restaurant located in the heart of Montreal's Mile End. Our approach is rooted in refined, ingredient-driven cuisine, thoughtful wine pairings, and a highly curated guest experience. We believe great hospitality comes from attention to detail, genuine warmth, and close collaboration between the dining room and the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Provide elevated, attentive service within a tasting menu format
Present and execute wine pairings with confidence, precision, and enthusiasm
Guide guests through the menu, ingredients, culinary techniques, and overall dining experience
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our wine list, cellar, and featured producers
Play a key role in shaping the restaurant's wine program, including the development of a rotating wine list and seasonal pairing menus
Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop, refine, and evolve wine pairings that complement the cuisine and reflect the restaurant's vision
Participate in regular tastings and wine selection for seasonal menus
Research emerging producers, regions, and import portfolios to continuously improve the beverage offering
Collaborate with agencies, importers, and suppliers to source wines aligned with our philosophy
Assist with purchasing, inventory management, cellar organization, and cost control
Support staff education and training on wine knowledge and pairings
Work closely with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless guest experience

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in a fine dining environment
Strong knowledge of wine, wine service, and food pairing principles
Experience with tasting menu service is a significant asset
Demonstrated passion for wine and ongoing learning
Excellent communication and storytelling skills
Professional, polished, and guest-focused presence
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard environment
Bilingual (English and French) required
Sommelier certification is an asset
