Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in their duties and responsibilities. They will be responsible for gathering, verifying, and processing information related to supplier invoices and the accounts payable process. They will work a 5-2 schedule in a hybrid mode at the Montreal office.

Duties and responsibilities

Comply with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules at all times;
Provide assistance with general administrative tasks;
Receive and verify supplier invoices;
Enter invoices with Po or GL coding according to company procedures;
Ensure that supplier invoices have been properly approved for payment according to company procedures;
Create new suppliers in the system;
Resolve issues related to invoice entry and follow up on them;
Ensure that monthly deadlines are met;
Report any situation that could affect accounts payable to your supervisor;
Perform any other tasks related to the accounts payable clerk position that are relevant to the success of the project.

Required qualifications

Accounting skills. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
Bilingualism (French and English) (will be required to communicate with the Toronto team and suppliers).

Technical skills

Be comfortable working with computer systems;
Be proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.);
Be proficient in SAP software (an asset).

Basic skills

Enjoy working in a team, able to build and maintain good relationships and demonstrate courtesy;
Good organizational, planning, and priority management skills;
Able to demonstrate rigor, vigilance, and discretion;
Good written and verbal communication skills;
Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
Ability to work in a constantly changing environment;
Good deadline management skills.
