Full job description

Location: Toronto or Montreal (hybrid – 2 days a week on site)

Duration: 6-12 months

Responsibilities

Perform complex analyses of coupled fluid-heat transfer via CFD, solve pipe network flow, heat transfer and thermodynamics challenges.
Understand and frame the analysis results within the context of the design and right sizing of an aircraft
Prepare test plans
Document analysis, ground and flight test results
Write and update Engineering practice documents

Proven Ability / Key Skills

You have a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering (Including fluid mechanics, heat transfer, in-flight icing, heat transfer and CFD analyses)
You have interest in doing complex CFD and finite elements analyses.
You have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in internal flow CFD analysis.
Experience with inlet / outlet design and analysis is an asset.
Self-motivated and innovative team player.
You have a good knowledge of MS Office software (advanced level for Excel)
You have a good knowledge of Star-CCM+, Ansys Fluent, SpaceClaim and SimCenter3D.
You are familiar with programming, complex codes and interfacing with an HPC (an asset) (Unix Operating System and with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, C++/C# & Python is an asset)

Lieu : Toronto ou Montréal (mode hybride – 2 jours par semaine en présentiel)

Durée : 6 à 12 mois

Responsabilités

Effectuer des analyses complexes de transfert thermique et d’écoulement des fluides couplés à l’aide de la CFD (dynamique des fluides numérique), ainsi que résoudre des problématiques liées aux réseaux de conduites, au transfert de chaleur et à la thermodynamique.
Comprendre et interpréter les résultats d’analyse dans le contexte de la conception et du dimensionnement optimal d’un aéronef.
Préparer des plans d’essais.
Documenter les résultats d’analyses ainsi que les essais au sol et en vol.
Rédiger et mettre à jour les documents de pratiques d’ingénierie.

Compétences et qualifications recherchées

Baccalauréat en génie mécanique ou aérospatial (incluant la mécanique des fluides, le transfert thermique, le givrage en vol et les analyses CFD).
Intérêt pour la réalisation d’analyses complexes en CFD et par éléments finis.
Minimum de 5 à 8 années d’expérience en analyse CFD d’écoulements internes.
Expérience en conception et analyse d’entrées/sorties d’air — un atout.
Esprit d’équipe, autonomie et sens de l’innovation.
Bonne maîtrise de la suite MS Office (niveau avancé avec Excel).
Bonne connaissance de Star-CCM+, Ansys Fluent, SpaceClaim et SimCenter3D.
Connaissance de la programmation, des codes complexes et de l’interfaçage avec des systèmes HPC — un atout (système d’exploitation Unix ainsi que des langages comme Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, C++/C# et Python constituent des atouts).

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Montréal, QC
