Full job description

Overview

We are looking for an organized, responsible, and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support the company’s purchasing activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing computer hardware, computer parts, server components, electronic equipment, and other products required for the company’s operations. The candidate will communicate with suppliers, compare quotations, place orders, follow up on deliveries, and maintain accurate purchasing records.

The ideal candidate should have purchasing experience, strong communication skills, and a good understanding of computer hardware and related technical products.

Responsibilities

Source and purchase computer hardware, computer parts, server components, electronic equipment, and other required products.
Communicate with suppliers by phone and email.
Request and compare quotations based on price, specifications, availability, warranty, and delivery time.
Negotiate basic pricing and purchasing terms when required.
Prepare and process purchase orders.
Follow up on order confirmations, shipping status, delays, and delivery dates.
Verify that purchased products meet the required specifications and order details.
Maintain records of suppliers, quotations, orders, invoices, and warranties.
Assist with returns, exchanges, damaged products, missing items, and warranty claims.
Identify new suppliers and help maintain reliable long-term supplier relationships.
Perform other purchasing-related duties as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or a related position is preferred.
Knowledge of computer hardware, computer components, servers, electronic products, or related technical equipment is required.
Ability to understand and compare basic product specifications.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple orders, suppliers, and deadlines.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and spreadsheets.
Ability to work independently and follow up proactively.
Experience with ERP systems, inventory software, or purchasing platforms is an asset.

Languages

Excellent written and spoken English is required.
Conversational French is required.
The candidate must be comfortable communicating professionally with suppliers and business partners by phone and email in English and be able to communicate effectively in French when needed.

La personne idéale possède de l’expérience dans le domaine des achats, de bonnes compétences en communication ainsi qu’une bonne compréhension du matériel informatique et des produits techniques connexes.

Responsabilités

Rechercher et acheter du matériel informatique, des pièces d’ordinateur, des composants de serveurs, des équipements électroniques et d’autres produits nécessaires.
Communiquer avec les fournisseurs par téléphone et par courriel.
Demander et comparer des soumissions selon le prix, les caractéristiques techniques, la disponibilité, la garantie et les délais de livraison.
Négocier les prix et les conditions d’achat de base lorsque nécessaire.
Préparer et traiter les bons de commande.
Effectuer le suivi des confirmations de commande, des expéditions, des retards et des dates de livraison.
Vérifier que les produits achetés correspondent aux caractéristiques techniques requises et aux détails de la commande.
Tenir à jour les dossiers concernant les fournisseurs, les soumissions, les commandes, les factures et les garanties.
Aider à gérer les retours, les échanges, les produits endommagés, les articles manquants et les réclamations de garantie.
Rechercher de nouveaux fournisseurs et contribuer au développement de relations commerciales fiables et durables.
Effectuer toute autre tâche liée aux achats, selon les besoins.

Exigences

Une expérience dans les achats, l’approvisionnement, la recherche de fournisseurs, la chaîne d’approvisionnement ou un domaine connexe est souhaitée.
Une bonne connaissance du matériel informatique, des composants d’ordinateur, des serveurs, des produits électroniques ou d’autres équipements techniques est requise.
Capacité à comprendre et à comparer les caractéristiques techniques de base des produits.
Bonnes compétences en communication et en négociation.
Excellent sens de l’organisation et grande attention aux détails.
Capacité à gérer plusieurs commandes, fournisseurs et échéances en même temps.
Bonnes compétences informatiques, notamment avec Microsoft Office, les courriels et les feuilles de calcul.
Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et à effectuer des suivis de manière proactive.
Une expérience avec les systèmes ERP, les logiciels de gestion des stocks ou les plateformes d’achat constitue un atout.

Langues

Une excellente maîtrise de l’anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit, est requise.
Un niveau de français permettant de communiquer dans un contexte professionnel est requis.
La personne candidate doit être à l’aise pour communiquer professionnellement avec les fournisseurs et les partenaires commerciaux par téléphone et par courriel en anglais, et être capable de communiquer efficacement en français lorsque nécessaire.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
