Role Summary
This role is designed for a detail-driven technical expert who values precision, structure, and mastery of their craft. You will take ownership of AV systems from preparation through execution, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance under tight timelines.
As an Audio-Visual Technician, you are responsible for technical execution, system integrity, and inventory accuracy across all assigned events. You will work independently and alongside a small technical team to ensure equipment is configured, deployed, and maintained to exact standards.
This role suits someone who prefers clear processes, fast-paced environments, and being relied on as the technical authority.
What You'll Do
Technical Execution & Systems Ownership
- Execute the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and dismantle of AV systems according to detailed job specifications
- Interpret and validate event requirements; identify potential gaps or technical risks before execution
- Ensure all equipment is configured, tested, and deployed with high accuracy and consistency
- Act as the on-site technical resource for system performance and issue resolution
Inventory & Equipment Control
- Maintain strict accountability for equipment: staging, tracking, loading, and returns
- Verify all gear against job orders with a high degree of accuracy
- Ensure all equipment is packed, handled, and stored according to company standards and safety protocols
- Support inventory integrity through disciplined record-keeping and reporting
Operational Coordination
- Communicate with internal teams (sales, operations, warehouse) to confirm technical requirements and eliminate ambiguity
- Document all work performed, variances, and equipment usage through detailed job reports
- Maintain vehicle logs, equipment logs, and operational documentation with accuracy
Logistics & Field Work
- Load/unload and transport equipment using company vehicles (cube trucks, vans)
- Execute efficient load-ins and load-outs in structured, time-sensitive environments
- Travel to event sites as required
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years of hands-on AV technical experience
- Experience working with live event production environments preferred
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles
Ideal Candidate Profile
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Prefer working independently on technical problems rather than constant supervision
- Take pride in being the person others rely on for accurate answers and technical decisions
- Are energized by fast-paced environments that demand precision
- Naturally question inconsistencies and seek complete information before acting
- Value expertise, structure, and continuous improvement over routine or purely customer-facing interaction
