Job Title: Experienced Carpenter – Stitch Crew (On-Site Modular Installation)

Guildcrest Building Corporation is seeking an experienced Experienced Carpenter (10+ years’ experience) with a roofing background to join our Stitch Crew working on active residential modular home installation sites across Eastern Ontario.
This is a senior, hands-on role for a highly skilled carpenter who can independently complete structural tie-ins, finishing, and on-site problem-solving while working closely with site supervisors and other trades.
About the Stitch Crew
Our Stitch Crew completes the critical on-site work required once modular home sections are delivered and set. This includes joining modules, completing structural connections, and finishing all interior and exterior tie-in areas to prepare the home for inspection and occupancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete on-site stitching of modular home sections after placement
- Perform structural framing tie-ins, floor and roof connections, and module alignment
- Complete interior and exterior finishing at module joints
- Install and finish trim, complete drywall repairs, and final touch-ups
- Read and interpret construction drawings, installation details, and specifications
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site deficiencies and installation challenges
- Work closely with site supervisors, crane crews, and other trades to coordinate work
- Perform work at height using ladders, scaffolding, and fall-protection systems
- Ensure all work meets Ontario Building Code, company quality standards, and safety requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment on active job sites
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on residential construction experience
- Roofing experience (required)
- Valid Working at Heights certificate
- Comfortable and capable working at heights on active construction sites
- Strong experience in framing, finishing, and site-based construction work
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of site-level tasks
- Strong ability to read and work from drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Reliable access to a vehicle to travel to job sites
- Strong safety awareness and professional job-site conduct
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Previous modular construction or installation experience
- Experience working in fast-paced or tight-schedule residential projects
- Informal leadership or mentoring experience with junior carpenters or labourers
