We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Librarian to support the operations of the Learning Commons and school library while fostering a welcoming and engaging learning environment for students and staff. The successful candidate will perform duties related to the circulation of library materials, including acquisitions, cataloguing and classification, reference services, audio visual support, and, where appropriate, technical and administrative services. This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining learning resources using manual or automated library management systems while ensuring the library remains an effective and accessible resource for the school community.
The School Librarian will provide assistance to students and staff in locating library materials and services and will support literacy and learning through library programming and activities when required. The successful candidate may also assist with other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal and/or school administration.
This is a part time (0.5 FTE) probationary position to commence the first day of the 2026-2027 school year. You will work 17.5 hours per week supporting the operations of the School Library.
Our ideal candidate will possess a minimum high school diploma, with preference given to applicants holding a post-secondary certificate or diploma in a related field. The successful candidate will be computer literate with effective working skills in Microsoft Office and will demonstrate proven organizational and time management abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the broader school community, are essential for this role.
