Full job description

Norstar Industries Ltd. is a locally-owned manufacturer located just outside Rosenort, MB. At Norstar we build conveyance equipment for the agriculture, agri-industrial and industrial markets. Norstar is also the home of the U-Drain™ floor drainage system. Our purpose is to build innovative solutions that help build and feed the world.

We are now seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our team.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday - 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (4 - ten hour shifts)

Responsibilities of the Job:

Including, but not limited to the following:

Set up and weld parts using MIG welding (GMAW) processes to match blueprints
Operate and maintain the welder in excellent condition
Use hand tools such as grinders, flame cutting equipment, air and power tools
Keep work area clean
Keep up with production demands while working safely
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

MIG welding experience is an asset
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset
Can read and follow blueprints
Ability to set temperature and wire speed
Ability to handle varied welding tasks, as well as repetitive processes
Work well independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail
Troubleshooting skills
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing (English)
Reliable transportation to and from work daily, while ensuring to be punctual
Welding Helmet and Steel-toed safety boots are required
Ability to work within a welding / manufacturing environment for 10 hours a day
Willingness to work Overtime if available
