.Job Summary:
General Machinist/Tool and Die Associate assists all production areas in repairing and rebuilding machine break downs and building new assemblies. General Machinist/Tool and Die Associate maintains a Kanban for forging area, reface tooling and dies for the forging process.
Reports to: Tool & Die Team Leader
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate of a Tool and Die Apprenticeship Program or Certificate of Qualification in Tool and Die
- Strong mechanical skills
- Strong ability to troubleshoot
- Able to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/computer aided design
- Proactive in safety issues and able to follow through task to completion safely

Job Responsibilities:
- Operate all equipment in Tool & Die area
- Computer knowledge
- Troubleshoot
- Blueprint reading
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
- Perform related duties as required
- Attend annual health and safety training including (but not limited to) WHMIS, and Lockout Tagout.
