Full job description

Accounting Clerk I (Accounts Payable)
Finance Department
One (1) Temporary Position – minimum 15-month contract
Competition No. C1080-26 ACCI (I)

As a member of the Finance Department, these positions may be responsible for the following:

Completes Accounts Payable functions efficiently and accurately on behalf of NLC
Prepares timely and accurate coding of invoices

Investigates and communicates any discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders and receiving reports and ensures the appropriate approval of invoices;
Processes the weekly payment run and ensures payment terms are being adhered to;
Responds to supplier, customer and employee inquiries in a timely manner
Completes month end procedures
Prepares and distributes reports periodically
Provides support to other members of the Finance Team
Other finance related functions as required

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

High School graduation

Completion of a recognized two (2) year accounting diploma or three (3) year business diploma from a post-secondary institution

One to two years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a computerized environment
Some experience using the Microsoft Dynamics Financial System

Knowledge of MMS, POS systems and Data Warehouse (BI Cube)
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Salary: CG 25 - $44,153.20 - $48,612.00 annually
