Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our busy restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, strong attention to food safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.

Duties

Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for service
Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items
Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients and helping chefs during meal service
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen work area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces
Follow all food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
Assist in setting up dining areas and restocking supplies as needed during service hours
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Knowledge of food handling and safety standards
Ability to perform basic food preparation and cooking tasks
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as needed
