Project Coordinator – Construction
Location: Mid Island Region on Vancouver Island
Job Type: Full Time

An established and growing construction organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join its project management team in Nanaimo.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in staying organized, and is looking to build a long-term career with a collaborative and experienced team. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting project delivery from pre-construction through completion.

Position Overview:

The Project Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to project closeout. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Subcontractors, and Clients to ensure timely communication, documentation, and coordination across all phases of the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist Project Managers in planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities
Track project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and change orders
Prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and progress reports
Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients to gather and distribute project information
Support procurement efforts including issuing purchase orders and tracking material deliveries
Coordinate permit applications and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
Help manage site logistics, drawing logs, and as-built documentation
Attend site meetings and prepare accurate meeting minutes
Assist in project closeout including gathering manuals, warranties, and final documentation

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in a project coordination role
Strong understanding of construction drawings, documents, and terminology
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Bluebeam and project management software is an asset but will train.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
