At CruisePlus, we’re looking for a full time, detail-oriented and highly organized Finance Assistant to support our finance department and play an integral role in our finance and operations team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

In this role, you will work with highly confidential financial and business information. Professionalism, discretion, and integrity are essential. You’ll also have the opportunity to become an expert in our systems, help improve processes, and contribute to the ongoing success of one of Canada’s leading travel agencies.

What You’ll Do

Finance & Operations

Become an expert user of our back-office database
Enter bookings accurately and prepare client invoices.
Review bookings to ensure all required documentation is complete before invoicing, working closely with Travel Advisors to resolve any outstanding items.
Run reports related to final payments and coordinate follow-up communications with Travel Advisors to ensure clients are contacted and documentation is received and properly filed.
Process final payments to a wide variety of travel suppliers.
Generate reports for finance, sales, and operational analysis.
Perform quality control reviews of bookings to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.

Become proficient with supplier booking systems to:

Review bookings for potential price reductions or added amenities.
Update pricing when appropriate.
Apply payments.
Purchase applicable upgrades or promotional perks.

Bookkeeping and / or travel experience would be an asset, but we will train the right candidate.

Travel industry experience would be an asset.

Requirements

Must reside in Nanaimo or surrounding community. Relocation is not considered.
In office position. No hybrid or remote.

Availability: Must be able to work Monday – Friday full time

Wages: 23– 24 per hour to start, depending on experience
