Overview

Join our team at La Stella Trattoria, as a Dishwasher/ Kitchen assistant, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. This vital role ensures a clean, organized, and safe environment for food preparation and service. Whether you're passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness or eager to gain experience in a dynamic hospitality setting, this position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a lively culinary team. Paid plus part of the BOH tip pool, this role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to supporting excellent food service. Possibility to move up in positions when appropriate.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning items, assembling ingredients, and organizing supplies.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including counters, sinks, floors, and storage spaces.
Support the kitchen team by managing waste disposal and ensuring proper storage of food items.
Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe working environment for everyone.
Help with restocking supplies and organizing dishware for efficient service flow.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely cleaning schedules during busy service hours.

Requirements

Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and food handling safety standards.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
Basic understanding of kitchen operations.
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues in a fast-paced setting.
Familiarity with hospitality or food service industry practices enhances your fit for this role.
