POSITION

Hourly Teachers - Early Childhood Education (Fall 2026)

The College is seeking hourly paid professors to join a dynamic team to teach credited courses within Continuing Education in the Fall 2026. These courses will be taught in an ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS format using teaching tools such as Microsoft Teams, Léa and Moodle.

**All courses will be taught from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

322-203-HR Introduction to the Profession (45 hours)
(Mondays from August 31st, 2026 to November 16th, 2026 – no class on Sept. 7th, Oct. 5th and Oct. 12th, 2026)
In this course, students will become acquainted with the early childhood profession by exploring topics including the different settings educators work in, and the educator’s roles and responsibilities with regard to supporting children’s learning, ethics, and ongoing professional development.

350-223-HR Support the Child’s Overall Development 1 (45 hours)
(Wednesdays from September 2nd, 2026 to October 28th, 2026)
In this course, students will be introduced to the basic principles of child development by focusing on the cognitive and physical growth of children from 0-12 years old.

322-194-HR Health and Safety in Educational Childcare (60 hours)
(Thursdays from September 3rd, 2026 to November 19th, 2026)
This course prepares students to maintain health and safety in early childhood education settings by creating safe environments, evaluating and supporting children’s well-being, and responding to emergencies.

322-233-HR Pedagogical Approaches (45 hours)
(Fridays from September 4th, 2026 to October 30th, 2026)
This course introduces students to a range of educational philosophies and approaches used in early childhood education. Students will explore the characteristics, benefits, as well as the dispositions that align with their foundational principles.

322-214-HR Observing Children (60 hours)
(Tuesdays from September 1st, 2026 to November 17th, 2026)
This course equips students with the skills to effectively observe and document children's behaviour and development to support their learning.

350-233-HR Support the Child’s Overall Development 2 (45 hours)
(Wednesdays from November 4th, 2026 to December 9th, 2026)
In this course, students will be introduced to the basic principles of child development by focusing on the language, social, moral, emotional, and sexual growth of children from 0-12 years old.

322-244-HR Daily Democratic Intervention (60 hours)
(Tuesdays and Thursdays from November 24th, 2026 to January 12th, 2027)
This course explores strategies to build meaningful relationships with children and support their autonomy, selfconfidence, and social-emotional development.

322-194-HR Healthy Lifestyle Habits (45 hours)
(Fridays from November 6th, 2026 to January 15th, 2027)
This course prepares students to maintain health and safety in early childhood education settings by creating safe environments, evaluating and supporting children’s well-being, and responding to emergencies.

322-263-HR Children and Healthy Eating (45 hours)
(Mondays and Wednesdays from December 14th, 2026 to January 20th, 2027 – no class on Jan. 18th, 2027)
This course explores the role of early childhood educators in promoting healthy eating habits in children.

SALARY RANGE (PER HOUR)

99.09$ - 138.27$

ROLE SUMMARY

In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes, adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request and other activities when required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and/or a combination of other relevant diplomas or certifications in a pertinent field is required, and a combination of industry experience related to the courses being taught.
To have some teaching experience would be considered an asset.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to:

Create a dynamic, challenging, and motivated learning environment.
Adapt to a variety of needs and provide appropriate online support.
Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through academic or non-academic experiences.
Apply theoretical concepts to current workplace needs and skill requirements.
Must be flexible as required.
Must be willing to work collaboratively within Continuing Education.
