Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting Ophthalmologists by assisting with patient examinations, accurately documenting clinical findings and treatment plans, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date medical records, and supporting billing and further administrative processes. This position is essential for enhancing the efficiency of clinical workflows and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

This is an on-site role for a Medical Scribe, located in Ottawa, ON. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for accurately documenting physician-patient encounters, including patient history, physical exam findings, and physician assessments.
The role involves real-time data entry into electronic health records, managing medical documentation, and ensuring that all information is captured accurately and efficiently.
The candidate will also support healthcare providers by handling clerical tasks that facilitate patient care.

Qualifications

Must be an International Medical Graduate (IMG)
Experience in ophthalmology or optometry practices
Strong communication skills
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in fast paced environments
Experience in using EMR systems is a plus
Fast typing speed and accuracy (at least 70 WPM)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
