ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced educator and facilitator who is passionate about teacher growth, professional learning, and educational excellence to join AEI’s Offshore Schools Program as our Professional Learning Specialist.
The Professional Learning Specialist plays a key role in building educator capacity across AEI’s international partner schools. Reporting to the Director, OSP, this position is responsible for designing, development, coordinating, and delivering professional learning opportunities that support the successful implementation of New Brunswick curriculum and educational practices.
The Professional Learning Specialist works closely with teachers, school leaders, and partner schools to identify learning needs, support implementation, facilitate onboarding, and promote continuous professional growth. Through high-quality professional learning experiences, this role helps ensure educators have the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to support student success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Knowledge Required for the Position include:

Bachelor of Education required. Master of Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or other relevant field is considered a strong asset.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience within the New Brunswick K-12 education system.

Demonstrated experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating professional learning for educators and school leaders.
-
Experience supporting curriculum implementation, instructional improvement, assessment practices, and teacher development.

Experience leading workshops, training programs, professional learning communities, coaching initiatives, or similar adult learning opportunities.

Experience supporting organizational, school, or instructional change initiatives.
-
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities:

Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to create and deliver engaging, professional presentations using modern digital and AI-assisted presentation tools.

Strong understanding of adult learning principles and effective professional learning practices.

Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, pedagogy, and instructional best practices.

Demonstrated ability to engage, inspire, and support educators with varying levels of experience and expertise.

Experience designing online, hybrid, or asynchronous professional learning.

Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment.

Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, diplomacy, cultural awareness, and sound judgment.

Excellent written and spoken English language skills.

Additional language capabilities are considered an asset.

Ability to travel internationally and work flexible hours to accommodate partners across multiple time zones.

Valid passport and ability to meet international travel requirements.
DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Design, develop, and deliver professional learning programs for teachers and school leaders.
-
Facilitate workshops, webinars, training sessions, conferences, and other professional learning opportunities.

Coordinate and support onboarding processes for new schools, administrators, and teachers.

Develop professional learning resources, guides, toolkits, and support materials.
-
Support the implementation of New Brunswick curriculum, assessment practices, and instructional expectations within partner schools.

Identify professional learning needs and collaborate with schools to develop targeted support plans.
-
Provide coaching, guidance, and implementation support to educators and school leaders.
-
Evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning initiatives and recommend improvements.

Collaborate with Education Specialists and other OSP team members to ensure alignment between professional learning, educational standards, and school needs.

Build and maintain strong relationships with partner schools and educational stakeholders.

Support strategic projects and organizational priorities as assigned.

Hours of work: Due to the international nature of the role, occasional work outside standard business hours may be required to accommodate partner schools across multiple time zones.

Travel: regular international travel required

Special conditions: valid passport, satisfactory Criminal Record Check, and ability to travel internationally.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
AEI offers a competitive salary ranging from $79,326 - $111,015, annually, and offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental benefits and RRSP matching.
