Full job description

Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Gas Station and Convenience Store Cashier, where you'll be the friendly face that greets customers and ensures smooth daily operations. This dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional customer service, manage transactions efficiently, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. Whether assisting with fuel sales, convenience items, or store merchandise, you'll play a vital part in delivering a positive experience for every visitor.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases at the cashier station and throughout the store
Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process cash, credit, and digital payments while handling cash responsibly
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and displays are appealing
Conduct product demos or upselling when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
Manage fuel transactions at the pump, including activating pumps and assisting customers with fueling needs
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and resolving issues promptly
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with store policies during all transactions and interactions

Skills and qualifications

Strong communication skills in English for clear interaction with customers and team members
Ability to legally work full time in Canada
Ability to work the evening shift 5 nights per week from 2pm to 10 pm.
Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service roles within convenience stores or gas station
Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling,
basicc math for accurate transactions, and merchandising techniques
Excellent organizational skills to manage time efficiently during busy periods
Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional communication standards
Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume hours
