Position Summary
Grace Care Communities Inc. is currently hiring for Housekeeping and Kitchen Aide opportunities. We are seeking reliable, dependable, and team oriented individuals who are committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while supporting the daily operations of our care home.
Reporting to the Manager of Operations and working closely with the housekeeping and Kitchen teams, successful candidates will play an important role in enhancing residents' comfort, dignity, and overall well being. Whether working in housekeeping or kitchen services, all duties are carried out in accordance with infection prevention and control, food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping -
- Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, dining rooms, and other assigned areas.
- Perform daily, weekly, and scheduled deep cleaning duties.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and sanitize assigned areas.
- Make beds, remove garbage, and replenish supplies as required.
- Clean and sanitize public washrooms throughout the day.
- Complete resident laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens.
- Keep housekeeping carts clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Report maintenance concerns or faulty equipment to management.
- Participate in resident evacuation procedures in accordance with the Fire Emergency Plan.
- Follow all infection prevention and workplace safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Kitchen Aide -
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, pantry, dining room, and food preparation areas.
- Assist with meal plating and food service.
- Support basic food preparation, including desserts and meal components.
- Set up dining areas before meal service.
- Replenish kitchen and pantry supplies.
- Remove kitchen garbage and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is in good working order and report concerns to management.
- Participate in resident evacuation procedures in accordance with the Fire Emergency Plan.
- Follow food safety, infection prevention, and workplace safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications -
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Food Handler or Food Safety Certification is required for the Kitchen Aide position. Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it upon hire.
- CPR and Emergency First Aid Certification required. Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it upon hire.
- WHMIS Certification is considered an asset.
Experience & Skills -
- Previous experience in housekeeping, dietary services, hospitality, healthcare, or a related environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable with a strong attendance record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Physically capable of performing duties in a fast paced environment.
- Professional, neat, and clean appearance.
Screening & Compliance Requirements
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Schedule:
We require flexibility to work day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on operational needs. The Kitchen Aide position is primarily scheduled for full time evening shifts.
