Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver/Yard Person to join our team. This role involves operating heavy equipment, managing warehouse distribution tasks, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, mechanical knowledge, and construction experience, ensuring efficient yard operations and safe handling of materials.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment including forklifts and other machinery to load and unload materials
Manage warehouse distribution tasks such as order picking and inventory organization using warehouse management systems
Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely deliveries
Perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required for construction or warehouse tasks
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the yard area
Support order picker operations to fulfill customer orders accurately
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning
Assist with general construction or maintenance projects on-site as needed

Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles
Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance
Valid certification or experience operating forklifts, trucks, and other heavy machinery
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Prior experience with warehouse systems is preferred
Construction experience is a plus
Strong understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse or yard environment
Ability to operate order pickers and manage inventory accurately
Physical stamina to perform manual labor throughout the workday
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required

This position offers an essential role in maintaining efficient yard operations while supporting the overall logistics process. We value safety, reliability, and mechanical aptitude in our team members.

Pay: $16.68-$23.00 per hour
