Groundskeeping Maintenance Technician
Gorham Real Estate/Fredericton Rentals Ltd./Premiere Suites Fredericton is currently seeking a Groundskeeping Maintenance Technician to execute landscape and property grounds operations across a portfolio of properties, with a strong emphasis on routine maintenance and curb appeal. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in groundskeeping. This role offers the opportunity to directly contribute to the overall appearance, safety, and value of our properties.

Location/s:
Our head office is located at 25 Waggoners Lane. Our properties are located in the downtown, uptown and Northside of Fredericton.
Summary:
The groundskeeping department maintains the grounds of all our apartment buildings as well as assists with trucking and miscellaneous tasks as required.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Responsible for operating a plow truck or tractor when scheduled (may include evenings, weekends and overnight)
· Parking lot clean up and snow removal from properties
· Shoveling
· Provide landscaping services including gardening, brush and shrub trimming, etc.
· Lawn mowing
· Raking
· Whipper snipping
· Trucking and litter pick up
· Sod repair
· Minor maintenance
· Appliance and furniture moving
· Light maintenance and carpentry duties
· Drain tile repair
· Driveway maintenance and repair including sweeping, patching, etc.
· Walkway repair
· Fence repair
· Eavestrough cleaning
· Exterior building cleaning
· Concrete work
· Assist with keeping all staff storage areas tidy
· Dryer vent annual cleaning in units and common areas
· HRV maintenance and annual cleaning
· Landscaping (gardens, trees, shrubs, flower beds)
· Other general maintenance tasks as needed where a team of two is required
· Assistance for other departments, as required
· Demolition
Accountability duties:
· Signing off work orders as soon as they are completed
· Inspections
· Annual performance reviews
· Ongoing feedback from Groundskeeping Supervisor and Maintenance Manager
Requirements include:
· Clean criminal record check provided prior to commencing work
· Valid driver’s License and personal vehicle available for use during working hours
· Ability to work every 1st of each month
· Ability to work late, weekends and evenings when needed
· Flexibility to handle emergency on call response if required
· Cell phone with data (will be compensated for use)
· Adhere to all safety standards and protocols while using tools and machinery
· Work closely with other department teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and address urgent repair needs
· Interact respectfully with tenants or residents, ensuring that maintenance issues are handled professionally
Qualifications:
· Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
· Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team
· Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
· Experience driving with a trailer an asset
· Experience operating a farm tractor or loader as asset
Compensation:
- Competitive wages based on experience - $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Job Type
This is a full-time position – 40.5 hours per week.
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday 7:30 - 4:30, Friday 7:30 - 2:30 pm
- Member of After-Hours Emergency on Call Rotation
Experience:
- 3-5 years groundskeeping or operator experience
