About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for HVAC and gas installations across residential, commercial, and multi-unit construction projects.
You'll install, commission, and troubleshoot heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and gas systems while coordinating closely with project managers, site supervisors, plumbers, electricians, homeowners, clients, and other trades.
As our company continues to grow, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor apprentices and help develop our in-house HVAC division.
Projects include custom homes, luxury renovations, commercial fit-outs, tenant improvements, restaurants, medical facilities, and multi-unit residential developments.
What You'll Be DoingHVAC Construction
- Install and commission furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop units, make-up air units, HRVs, ERVs, and ventilation equipment.
- Install ductwork, diffusers, grilles, registers, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Perform equipment start-up, commissioning, and system testing.
- Coordinate HVAC installations with plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, and finishing trades.
Gas & Mechanical Systems
- Install gas piping and gas-fired appliances in accordance with TSSA requirements.
- Perform gas pressure testing and commissioning.
- Ensure all gas work complies with applicable codes and regulations.
- Coordinate combustion-related work with the plumbing division.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure installations comply with the Ontario Building Code, TSSA requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
- Prepare projects for inspections and commissioning.
- Verify system performance before project completion.
- Identify and resolve installation issues before they affect project schedules or quality.
- Maintain organized project documentation.
Leadership & Growth
- Work directly with company leadership to help build our HVAC division.
- Mentor apprentices and junior technicians as the division grows.
- Help improve field processes, quality standards, and efficiency.
- Promote a safe, organized, and professional work environment.

QualificationsRequired
- Valid Ontario 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate of Qualification.
- Valid G2 Gas Technician Licence.
- Minimum 5 years of residential and commercial HVAC experience.
- Experience with new construction, renovations, additions, and commercial projects.
- Experience installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop units, ventilation systems, and ductwork.
- Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of TSSA requirements and applicable mechanical codes.
- Experience commissioning HVAC systems and preparing projects for inspections.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence with reliable transportation.
Strong Assets
Experience with one or more of the following:
- G1 Gas Technician Licence
- 313D Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
- Commercial rooftop units
- Variable refrigerant flow (VRF/VRV) systems
- Hydronic heating systems
