As a Tactical Security Guard, you will work within a secure federal facility where no two days are the same. You'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic, high-responsibility setting.

This position provides exceptional hands-on experience in security operations, crisis intervention, conflict management, emergency response, report writing, and professional communication. Through specialized training and real-world experience, you'll develop valuable skills that are highly transferable to careers in policing, border enforcement, corrections, public safety, and other law enforcement-related fields.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard in a Secure Facility

Ensure the protection of individuals, property, and assets within the facility
Escort individuals within the premises as necessary for safety
Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress
Observe and monitor behaviour and report concerns
Conduct regular foot patrols – both indoors and outdoors
Utilize security software and equipment effectively
Conduct frequent wellness checks
Generate accurate incident and daily reports
Respond swiftly to emergency situations using tactical de-escalation techniques

Qualifications for Tactical Security Guard in a Secure Facility

Valid BC Security Guard License
Valid First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) - an asset
Advanced Security Training (AST) – an asset
Must have resided in Canada for the past 5 years
High school diploma or equivalent (proof of education required)
Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
At least 1 year of experience in a security role
Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations
Strong communication and customer service skills
