Full job description

Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a Front Desk Agent to join our growing team at The Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook, NL. The ideal candidate would possess a positive "can-do" attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Greet guests upon arrival, check them in and provide them with any information they need to enjoy their stay

Respond to guest complaints, requests and emergencies

Reconcile all accounts in a timely manner and verify all end of day cash etc. from multiple departments and learning/working overnight audit shifts, when required

Ensure invoices are accurate and sent to the accounting department

Schedule guest wake-up calls and book reservations

Answer phone calls, verify reservations and guest requests

Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and issues, as needed

Demonstrate a professional and positive presentation to guests and colleagues, and be well groomed

Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications Skills & Attributes:

2+ years experience in customer service or hospitality

A high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Provide a clear Criminal Record Screening Certificate

Excellent written and verbal communication, and customer service skills

Ability to learn computer functions and other on-the-job skills

Strong eye for details and the ability to multitask

Strong math and problem-solving skills

Shift Time – A rotating 12 hour shift schedule from 8:00am – 8:00pm

Seasonal Position - 32 -40 hours weekly, June, July, August
