HR ADVISOR: Play a key role in supporting the team locally while collaborating with HR colleagues across the Americas!
At an exciting time to join Score’s global team, we are looking for a locally based HR Advisor, at our site in Paradise, to provide hands-on HR support while partnering with a collaborative HR team across the Americas.
Reporting to the HR Manager, Americas, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to regional HR initiatives and play an important role in supporting our people and business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with and provide guidance on company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
- Act as an ambassador for fairness and consistency in application of HR policies, procedures and standards.
- Ensure that all business activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards. Ensure that all HR documentation is always up to date and in line with current legislation.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to managers and employees on workforce relations matters.
- Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of HR initiatives in conjunction with the HR Manager to be aligned with overall business strategy.
- Support managers with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Provide support for the performance and pay review processes and aid with the associated data processing and analysis required.
- Conduct full-cycle talent acquisition to attract, hire and retain skilled individuals to meet the organization and client’s short- and long-term needs, including workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding.
- Undertake and participate in HR and training projects as agreed with the HR Manager.
- Analyze HR metrics and data to inform and improve HR processes.
- Provide support to Score Canada locations.
- Ensure compliance with local and Canadian labour laws and regulations.
- Promote a positive organizational culture and employee engagement.
- Ensure that all HR systems and employee records remain updated – electronic and paper based.
- Conduct workplace investigations, compile and prepare investigation reports for HR Manager’s review.
- Act as the region’s Benefits Administrator and complete required paperwork for short- and long-term disability cases.
- Conduct interviews and prepare regular reports and statistical data relating to staff turnover and retention.
- Support logistics for onboarding and assigning temporary workers to Shutdowns and Turnarounds. This may include, coordinating the process for immigration and work permits, adding employees to driver’s insurance policies, etc.
- Maintain current knowledge of both HR and employment law.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally as an HR Advisor or in a Generalist capacity.
- HR certification such as LINX-HR, CPHR or other similar is considered an asset.
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience supporting Canadian employee populations is an asset.
- Experience with full-cycle talent acquisition and recruiting best practices.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements in Newfoundland & Labrador, labour laws, and regulations.In-depth understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations for Newfoundland & Labrador.
- Understanding of business operations and how HR can support organizational goals.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution, performance management, and employee engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with HR analytics, metrics and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork and commitment, build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in identifying issues, analyzing problems, and implementing solutions.
- Ability to coordinate multiple HR projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and HR practices.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong decision-making abilities to address HR issues effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive work environment.
