The Cahill Group is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Manager to support our Construction NL division in St. John’s, NL. As a Project Manager, you report directly to the Director of Projects, and will be at the center of project execution, coordinating skilled trades, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and project resources to bring complex construction scopes to life. Working closely with site supervision, clients, and internal stakeholders, you will solve challenges, drive productivity, manage project risks, and create an environment where teams can perform at their best. Your leadership will play a critical role in delivering high-quality results while maintaining Cahill's commitment to safety, operational excellence, and client success.

This position will be a permanent position, working Monday to Friday, with opportunities for travel and rotational site assignments that may arise.
Role and Responsibilities:
Project Pursuit & Planning:
- Support business development and project pursuit activities by contributing to estimates, proposals, and bid submissions.
- Review contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and client expectations to develop a thorough understanding of project scope and execution requirements.
- Lead project kick-off activities and collaborate with project stakeholders to establish execution strategies, resource plans, schedules, and project objectives.

Partner with Planning and Project Controls teams to develop detailed project schedules, milestones, and performance measures.
- Proactively identify project risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies that support successful project delivery.
Project Mobilization:
- Coordinate the procurement and timely delivery of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and skilled trades resources required for project execution.
- Ensure project teams have the tools, information, and support necessary to safely and efficiently perform their work.
- Work closely with Human Resources to coordinate unionized workforce requirements, ensuring the right resources are available to meet project demands while maintaining compliance with applicable collective agreements.
- Establish project controls, reporting structures, communication plans, and document management processes.
- Confirm all project safety requirements, training needs, and compliance expectations are identified and communicated before work begins.
Project Execution:
- Lead the day-to-day execution of assigned projects, maintaining accountability for safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and cost performance.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Work closely with site supervision to proactively identify and resolve field challenges, remove barriers, and maintain project momentum.
- Promote and reinforce Cahill's commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence, actively supporting the goal of zero lost-time incidents.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project partners, ensuring a positive project experience and responsive project delivery.
- Monitor progress against project objectives and adjust execution strategies as required to achieve successful outcomes.
- Maintain oversight of project costs, forecasts, budgets, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project changes, scope growth opportunities, claims, and commercial risks while protecting the interests of both Cahill and our clients.
- Oversee the timely management of RFIs, shop drawings, technical queries, contracts, and change orders to support uninterrupted project execution.
- Deliver regular project performance reports and updates to senior leadership and clients.
- Travel to project sites as required to support successful project delivery and client engagement.
Project Closeout & Client Success:
- Lead project turnover and closeout activities, ensuring all contractual obligations and deliverables are completed to the highest standard.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of handover documentation, completion records, and final project reports.

Conduct project reviews and lessons learned sessions to capture opportunities for future improvement.
What will you bring?

Degree, diploma, or technical certification in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline. Focus in electrical and mechanical areas are preferred.
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience managing industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification is an asset but not a requirement.
- Experience leading projects from pre-construction planning through execution, turnover, and closeout.
- Ability to interpret project schedules, reports, and project performance metrics to support informed decision-making.
- Ability to focus on safe and effective execution of multiple projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Strong negotiation, evaluation, and organizational skills.
